Dear Timer Team,
Thank you for volunteering — you are absolutely essential to making our swim meet run smoothly and fairly. We’re excited to have you on deck tomorrow!
🕓 Please arrive by 4:45 PM sharp. You must sign in and attend the timer briefing. If you miss the briefing, we will need to replace you — and we don’t want that to happen!

- Your assigned lane for tomorrow
- The Timer Survival Guide — everything you need to know to feel confident and prepared
Why Timers Matter: Accurate timing is critical for our swimmers. They’ve trained hard, and they deserve focused, reliable timers. Your attention and energy help ensure every race is fair and every swimmer gets the recognition they’ve earned.
Quick Reminders from the Survival Guide:
- Know your lane setup — 3 Dolphin timers, 1 manual stopwatch, 1 clipboard boss
- Verify the swimmer — ask them to say their name before the race
- Step back at the start — give swimmers space
- Watch for the finish at the EDGE of the pool...you SHOULD get wet — stop the timer the moment they touch the wall.
- You’re not a judge — just record the time!
- No phones behind the blocks — Safe Sport rules apply
- Stay focused, stay kind, stay Sharky!
Let’s make it a great meet — loud cheers, sharp eyes, and smooth races.
We’re so grateful for your help!
