Sharks Update Week of May 26

Evening Practice Schedule:

Evening practices start on Tuesday for the Little Sharks, 8 and under and 9/10 swimmers. On Wednesday, 11/12, and 13++ practices. Please refer to the website to know your schedule! Here is the link: https://stoneridgesharks.swimtopia.com/evening-practice If you can’t make it, no worries! We know the end of the school year and spring sports can be hectic.

Looking at the weather this week, please make sure that you have closed toe shoes to do dryland in the parking lot if the coaches feel that is the best option.

Swimmers should arrive 10 minutes early, ready to swim. For littles, goggles on heads, caps on (if wearing), and equipment out of bags and in hand and all clearly labeled. We only have half the pool in the evenings, so thank you for your patience.

We’re getting close to the start of the season and have a few important updates to share!

Weather Related Cancellations:

Lifeguards have a machine that tracks lightning in the area. If it signals lightning in the vicinity, the pool is closed even if we cannot see it.

  • When this happens, the deck needs to be cleared immediately.
  • Swimmers cannot be wandering at any age through the parking lot.
  • The pool will be closed for 30 minutes every time we have another signal of lightning.
  • Therefore, swimmers need to immediately take shelter with their parent/guardian in a car or at their house.
  • Swimmers cannot be in the pool area even in the concessions area.
  • Sharks is not responsible for any swimmer during weather related pool closures
  • We will update everyone about weather cancellations as soon as possible via the FB page(see the parent meeting slides to join. Also, if you do not answer the questions, you will not be accepted, so please answer them)

Meet Our Volunteer Coordinator

We’re excited to introduce Tom Penetrante, our Volunteer Coordinator. He’ll be your go to for all things related to volunteer job sign ups and points.

You can reach him at: [email protected]

The total number of required points will be shared soon. We have to wait to ensure accuracy between families until the roster is set. Thank you for your patience to ensure we have families to work until the end of the season.
