Welcome to Sharks 2024!

Welcome Sharks,

We are excited to launch our best summer yet over the next few weeks. This is going to be an amazing year. Our team was full at a record pace this season.

As we kick off the new season, we welcome back Coach Rick and Zach with three new assistants to help them. Please welcome Coach Kaitlyn, Coach Carter and Coach Cal.

Coach Kaitlyn is finishing her freshman year at George Washington University. She swims for the GW club swim team. She is studying sports medicine and is an alumni of the Stone Ridge Sharks.

Coach Carter is finishing up his senior year at Lightridge High School. He plans to attend Virginia Tech to study engineering. Carter was part of the States team in VHSL Class 5 this past winter. He currently swims for NCAP and has swam with the Sharks for many years.

Coach Cal is finishing up his junior year at John Champe High School. He swims for NCAP and qualified for States in VHSL Class 4 this past winter. Cal has been part of the Sharks for many years.

A few reminders for your schedules over the next few weeks:

Volunteer Checks:

  • Families must send their volunteer checks to our Treasurer, Sean Page at 42012 Ural Drive
  • His home is his place of business. Please mail the check or leave it in the box on his porch. Kindly do NOT ring the doorbell as his dogs will need to be tended to every time, which he cannot do during the day.
  • Checks need to be to him no later than April 30, or we will move to the next person on the waitlist canceling your registration.
  • It is one check per family. We do not plan to cash it. This check will be held (NOT cashed) until the end of the season. At that point, if the volunteer requirements have been met, this check will be voided. If the volunteer requirements have not been met, the check will be considered a “buyout” in exchange for unearned points and will be deposited in the swim team account.
  • All checks should be made out to Stone Ridge Community Swim Team
  • If you know that you will not be volunteering and want to just pay the fee, kindly let us know before May 1, so we can plan accordingly.
  • Families with only kickboarders do not need to send a volunteer check.

Team Suit/Equipment:

Evaluations and Team Suit Try On: May 11 at Propel Swim Academy: 2:30pm

  • Swimmers new to ODSL swim and/or the Sharks or trying to move from kickboarders to swim team all need an evaluation. A separate email will come to you with your specific time shortly. There will be limited makeup evaluations. If you cannot make either one, we will refund your registration minus the $15 fee. If you cannot make the May 11 evaluation, we must know by April 30.
  • Team Suit Try On: Anyone is welcome to come use the dressing rooms to try on our suits from 2:30-4:30 at Propel.
